About Baked

Baked by Nana is more than a bakery; it is a family story that has been evolving for over 20 years. What started as our mom’s determination to make her daughters’ wedding cakes has grown into a full-fledged family business built on love, service, and a passion for baking clean, wholesome treats.

Our mom, who the grandkids affectionately call Nana, first learned the art of wedding cakes from an incredibly kind and knowledgeable gentleman at our church who believed that every bride deserves a beautiful cake regardless of circumstances. With that same heart for service, Nana has baked for countless couples, families, and friends over the years. As her three daughters grew, so did her repertoire, until one day we realized: why not make this our family’s next adventure?

Running Baked by Nana as a family has been equal parts fun, chaotic, and inspiring. Between Nana’s cake baking magic, our dad’s behind-the-scenes inventions, and all of us learning and creating together, every day is an adventure in buttercream.

From our family to yours, thank you for letting us be a part of your sweetest moments. At Baked by Nana, we don’t just bake cakes, we bake memories. And we can promise you this: they will always be made with love and intention.

Ladeana

(Mom, Nana, Buttercream Boss)

The reason Baked by Nana exists and the heart of everything we do. Baker, flour miller, queen of icing, floral whisperer, ultimate prayer warrior, and buttercream boss. She also handles all the pickups and deliveries like a pro. She pours love and intention into every recipe and every cake she creates. She’s also the only person who can crumb coat a cake while holding a baby. We keep her on her toes, but she always manages to pull off everything we throw at her.

Life beyond the buttercream, she is our family treasure and proud Nana to five grandkids. She’s happiest when surrounded by them, cheering them on at every event. Family has always been her most important thing, and it shows in everything she does. She’s the glue that holds us all together, both in the kitchen and at home.

Tim

(Dad, T, Master of Molds and Babysitting)

Our unpaid employee. He didn’t apply for this job, and he can’t quit it, but we couldn’t run without him. Fixer of all things, builder of molds and gadgets, and Nana’s right-hand bread baking sidekick. If something breaks, he finds a way to fix it, usually with some contraption that makes life easier for all of us. He’s also the unofficial daycare provider who keeps kids entertained when the rest of us are elbow-deep in buttercream. T’s the one who keeps the wheels from falling off this circus, one engineered solution and toddler snack at a time.

With five grandkids, life outside Baked still revolves around the little ones. If he’s not giving them rides on his motorcycle, leading backyard adventures, or serving as the resident lifeguard in the pool, he’s usually the one fueling the fun. Basically, if the kids are laughing, sticky, and covered in mud, you know T’s been in charge.

Amanda

(Mands, Director of Digital Design and Sarcasm)

Digital creator extraordinaire. She handles all our videos, reels, social media posts, graphic design, and website magic. She’s also our hand-lettering pro, color perfectionist, flavor inspector, and often loudest member of the kitchen. She’ll fight for the perfect shade of pink, and her taste buds call the shots on flavor. If they approve, it’s a keeper. If you’ve laughed at one of our posts, that was probably her attempting to make jokes instead of helping clean the kitchen.

Mands is mom to two helpers, Chloe and Heston, who already love spending time in the kitchen with us. When she’s not baking or editing, you’ll find her doing all the Type C mom things or enjoying fresh air out on her husband John’s family farm. Sarcasm and movie quotes are her jam, which is why so many of our posts have a side of cinematic comedy to go with the buttercream.

Taysha

(Taysh, Chief of Operations, Piping Princess)

Our customer service guru and keeper of ALL the details. She talks with every customer, sends quotes, organizes orders, manages inventory, and occasionally overbooks our calendar (it’s her love language). Around here, she’s basically our COO, keeping everything running smoothly from the first message to the final pickup. She’s also our lead piping princess and photographer of those final cake glamour shots. Basically, she keeps the whole operation organized until one of her kids needs a nap.

Taysh is mom of three kiddos, Brently, Luca, and Cora, and our official vibe checker. She’s the one making sure kindness wins when tensions run high. And because she doesn’t already juggle enough, she’s also the creator of The Mindful Market LBK. Her favorite title will always be Mom, but around here we know her best as the one who keeps both the cakes and the chaos in check.

Maryssa

(Merty, Mers, Creative Director, Comedic Relief)

Known for her semi-viral Dooneese video, Maryssa is the one who should not be left unsupervised in the kitchen. She can’t figure out how to turn on the oven and ices cakes with her hands, but she always keeps us honest with her feedback on flavors and designs, and she brings her expertise and vision to marketing and branding. She makes hilarious Reels starring herself and bosses us around just enough to keep things interesting. Her entrepreneurial spark is what set this whole adventure in motion, and she hasn’t let us forget it. Her claim to fame? The best butterfly body piping you’ve ever seen.

Mers is cat mom to Patchouli. She teaches yoga, travels the world, and co-hosts a mastermind community. Minimal help in the kitchen, maximum help keeping things entertaining. Her creativity stretches far beyond the kitchen, but we’re glad she still saves some of it for us.

The Whole Family Behind Baked:

The bakers, baby wranglers, chaos coordinators, taste testers, and comedians who keep this kitchen rolling. It may look like a circus some days, but this is us. Part bakery, part sitcom, all family.

Everywhere you look, there’s flour in the air and icing on the ceiling (sometimes literally). Just like a family recipe, this crew is full of heart and a little bit of chaos.

Welcome to our kitchen… you’re always invited.
